CSCC Handicaps - 2025
We follow the World Handicap System that came into effect January 2020 which was established to provide golfers with a unified system globally.

Consistent with the new World Handicap System, your handicap is the average of your 8 best adjusted scores from your most recent 20 games. If you have less than 20 rounds in the system, the system will calculate your handicap using fewer scores. As an example, if you have only 8 scores in the system, you course handicap is based on the average of your two best scores. For competition purposes you must have at least 5 scores in within the last 12 months or you will play with a zero handicap. Accordingly, the more scores you submit, the more accurate it reflects your golfing ability. For more information, look on-line – World Handicap System.

Under the World Handicap System, your adjusted score for each hole, for handicap purposes is limited to a Net Double Bogey. For example, if you have a handicap of 9, then a net double bogey would be 3 over par on every hole. If your handicap is 18, then a net double bogey would be 4 over on every hole. For more information, go on-line.

You should put your actual score for each hole on the scorecard as the handicap software makes the net double bogey calculation for you.

General Information and Local Rules
-
All members and guests must be 16 years old to drive a golf cart.
-
Players driving a golf cart from the direction of Sunset, please use the road to bring your cart to the first tee as opposed to driving down the 1st fairway for the safety of golfers teeing off.
-
Please, please do not drive through our rough. Those areas are not watered and driving golf carts through kills the grass.
-
Occasionally sprinklers are turned on during the day and may interrupt your golf game. Please do not stop or hold the sprinkler heads by hand or with a golf club, as that damages them. Damaged sprinkler heads are extremely expensive.
-
Fix all ball marks on the green.
-
Do not use the golf course as a driving range or chipping practice area.
-
Do not walk your dogs on the course (June-September).
-
Do not litter (cigarette butts, etc.).
-
Do not use golf carts when the sign is up restricting use due to weather conditions.
-
Each cottage is allowed to have 7 guests/day. A member does not have to golf with their guests if there are 4 or fewer guests; In any case, the member must be present in the Springs. We would appreciate it if you would bring all our rules to the attention of your guests. In particular, advise guests they should not drive carts in the rough.
-
Clearly print your name and date your scorecards when you drop them in the box at the 9th green.
-
Do not move the tee blocks.
-
Pin placements are moved a couple of times per week.
-
Found a club on the course? Lost a club? Check the box at the 9th hole.
-
Although we do not have an "official” dress code for our golf course (i.e. collared shirts, long shorts, or shoes), it is required that shirts could be worn by all.
-
In the interest of safety, please try to not hit your drive from the 3rd tee onto the 4th fairway.
-
Please contact the golf committee chairperson regarding rentals. Rentals are available for all members Monday through Friday starting September 15 through the end of the season.
-
